Mornin' Coffee: Grampa bags a Beauty

March 6, 2009

This morning I thought I’d share some family photos.

*My grandfather has been fishing on Eagle lake for as long as I can remember. In summer he trolls everything from giant “Dave-Davis” spoons to classic streamers like the Mickey Fin. In the winter, live bait is his ammo. Through his years he has caught more bragging size fish than I could ever dream of catching in 10 lifetimes. This winter provided one of those fish. At just shy of 8 pounds, this giant Lake Trout (or touge as we like to call it in Maine) barely fit through the hole in the ice.
