Father’s Day

June 15, 2009

– A long day at work + a pounding head mean that the story of my weekend will see another rain delay. Come hell or high water, I promise that after work tomorrow I will deliver a magnificent story that exceeds even Hemmingway’s expectations. Until then, I’ve decided to steal some idea’s from our good friends at Moldy Chum.

With Father’s Day right around the corner, It’s time to start thinking of giving back to the man that gave you life. While I’m sure our father’s never intended on us wasting so much time tying flies and fishing instead of working or helping around the house, there is no doubt that to be a good father many sacrifices must be made. Keeping this in mind, it might be a great idea to put a little thought into getting your father something you know he’ll appreciate this Father’s day. While a new truck, fly rod, or boat all stand out as top notch gifts, nothing says thank you more than a hand made card with the giant fish on it. But wait, it get’s better!

Because you and I suck at drawing, the people at Flylines Cards have created a collection of colorful father’s day cards that any dad will enjoy. Each hand made card comes complete with a colorful fish graphic and a real fly for dad’s viewing (and fishing) enjoyment. Because nobody likes a cheap, unappreciative individual, it might be a good idea to throw a gift card to your local fly shop in as well.

Now go, spend that hard earned money on someone other than yourself for a change. For more information, and to view the complete collection of cards and other products, visit

Happy Castings,
