Shooting Birds (With a Camera)

October 29, 2009

Howdy Ladies and Gents!

As I keep working through my extremely busy week, I report with much delight that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! One more lesson to teach, on more paper to write and present, and then I’m headed north for some deer/bird hunting action with a little bit of Halloween thrown into the mix. Pumpkinheads anyone?

While November marks the start of open firearms season on deer, many people forget that partridge hunting can still prove extremely successful and entertaining. During my moose hunt in October we saw upwards of 25 birds in a mere 2 days. While hunting them was out of the question (Moose think gun shots are scary!) Dad and I managed to “shoot” a few of them with the camera. A few of the best shots are now available for your viewing enjoyment!

What a head shot!

Happy Hunting, see you in the hills!

Have traveled the world in my pursuit of fly-fishing and birds. Think I’m over the 2076 species spotted so far. The bottom one looks very similar to our Hazel grouse here on the Island.Top post mate.

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it. Over 2076 birds, now THAT is impressive.
