Airflo Orvis L.L.Bean Scientific Anglers

-Purchasing the right gear for Fly Fishing can be frustrating without the proper resources. While demo days or stealing your friends gear are sometimes possible, often times testing a new rod, reel, or jacket is out of the question. Instead of simply going in blind, many prospective buyers turn to the internet to learn more about products. While more popular items like electronics and vehicles have more reviews than most people can handle, I have found that fly fishing is lacking as far as quality reviews are concerned.

Now I am in no way saying that my reviews are what you might consider quality. Hell, I won’t even claim they aren’t bias. What I can say is that every rod, reel, jacket, shirt, fly line, or anything else I test will be tested thoroughly and completely. All reviews will feature my personal opinions, as well as my likes and dislikes, regardless of how expensive or cheap the product is, or who it comes from.

These are the Up’North gear reviews, tested in the North, proven (or not) in the North, and ready to make maxing out that credit card of yours MUCH easier. While some reviews have been completed, future reviews are also included in the list. These products are either currently in the testing stages, or awaiting a final written review. Please be patient and check back often!

Looking forward to the Sharkskin review, even if it is the freshwater version. I’ve got a #8 saltwater and will withhold comment until I read yours (so as not to skew the results).

Also enjoyed your Orion #9 review. Good to hear they’re making some good affordable rods nowadays.
